A Wall of Books

A dream of mine has been to have a wall of books. Floor to ceiling bookcase filled with books that I love and enjoy. The cozy comfort of having a selection of good books in my own home. This dream is finally becoming a reality. Part of my recent Ikea trips has been to get some bookcases and recently we got them anchored to the wall so I can start filling them up.

Books that I really enjoyed growing up I usually tended to buy. If I really liked the first book in a series, I would typically want the whole series and thus my collection began. This was also spurred by my lack of patience to wait for the local library to get the latest book in the series or wait for it to be returned. As you can see in the photo I have room to continue to find new books to add to my shelves. 🙂

Sweetly,

Gwenlynn

I see the step ladder you need to reach the top! Glad you have extra space for more.

Yes, I still have a couple more book boxes to unpack and then to just fill in the empty space with knick knacks.

  2. My bedroom bookshelf is a little too small for all of my books. I therefore have to decide which ones to read and then donate to free up the space. I can use other bookshelves in the house though if I need to, since my bedroom space is limited. I tend to hoard books, just like I did with music CD’s and then came to the realisation that I might never actually read them (or in the case the CD’s listen to them). Now I keep telling myself I need to go through what I have bought on my shelves and on my Kindle before I can get new stuff. It doesn’t completely stop me from buying new books but at least I’m finally getting through some of the old content and enjoying it 🙂 You have a lovely bookshelf, I look forward to you filling it to the brim with many books to cherish forever 🙂

It’s nice to have most of my books in one place. Thus making it easier to peruse my collection as I do enjoy rereading several of them. Since this post the bookshelves have been filled quite a bit more with older books and trinkets.
