Creating a social media account for your pet isn’t just about gaining popularity and followers, that’s just an extra. Here are 4 reasons to actively have an Instagram for your fur baby.
1) Ease of Sharing
How many times have you been talking to a co-worker, friend, or stranger about your pet and feel you need to show a picture. Honestly pictures convey how stink’n adorable they are better than words. A social media account like Instagram let’s you pull up pictures that you may not have stored locally any more and they are curated already.
2) A Collection of Memories
I can’t tell you how many times I have scrolled all the way back to the beginning of Emma’s account to see all little Emma videos and pictures. I am so glad I started her account on day one. I have so many favorites from those early days, it’s like a virtual scrapbook but better because it includes videos.
3) Mood Booster
This piggy backs off number two. Having a feed of Emma’s puppy grin and playful nature is a great mood booster. I cannot help but smile and gush to myself about how wonderful it is to have this little corgi in my life. It just reinforces how much of a good decision it was to get a puppy and what a joy I have to go home to.
4) Saturation Control
By having a separate feed for Emma I am giving my friends and family the option to follow. When I started I would have most of my posts shared on my personal Facebook account and I thought maybe it was a bit much. So I have backed off and I am allowing those that are interested in getting it all to follow Emma separately. Though some moments are just too good to not overshare. So I’m limiting how Emma saturated my fb timeline is.
