Sometimes I get caught up in the work to be done and forget to lay back and enjoy the fruit of my labor or the china stored away for someday. With the latest move I have decided that I should enjoy the nice things.
Well, it has been… I forget how many weeks so let’s say awhile since I started the garden and gave an update.
Happy May Day!
I remember celebrating May day as a little girl. My Mom and I would put together little floral arrangements…
Last weekend was quite productive. We went to an auction and got a great deal on some tools for Ben to start off our Saturday. Followed by some progress in our landscaping endeavor.
On Sunday I took the time to admire the beauty in my own backyard to look at the spring flowers grow. Read more to find out what surprise I found!
Have you ever reached a point of feeling pulled in too many directions. Where there is so much to do, but you can’t quite recall what though.
It doesn’t help that I have not solidified a way to deal with my impromptu notes. I jot items down on sticky notes and I stuff them in my bag to bring home with the intent to revisit that evening.
It’s been almost 3 weeks now since I started my seeds in the AeroGarden. It’s been such a joy to watch the seeds sprout and grow up through the pods. Basil as typical was the first to come out.
It’s been one week since we got a vacuum robot to try out. Here are our current thoughts based on our one week trial:
I love to bring a few plants in when it starts to get cold. Common recipes I make each week call for chives and basil and having it on hand is quite useful.
Grocery store bought bunches of greens often are much more than I need and I feel wasteful not having a use for the remainder in upcoming meals.
I have been considering what value a robot vacuum may have, as our house has a lot of hardwood flooring. We are currently borrowing my In-Laws Roomba in order to test out how they work for us, before possibly buying.
Just a quick home update. I am making great headway on my unpacking/organizing front.
In the short time since we’ve gotten our home, we have done the regular things to make a home ones’ own and normal maintenance and more.
Most of the family holiday dinners we go to, be it Thanksgiving or Christmas, is served buffet style. With the food out in the kitchen, there is plenty of space on the table for mom’s china place settings, butter, salt, pepper, and a centerpiece. The most memorable centerpiece my Mom puts out is her Snowbabies.
With a live Christmas tree comes pine tree trimmings! The trimmed branches have been sitting outside for a bit and I finally made it to the craft store this week to pick up a couple of wreath frames, floral wire, and extra decor for my three wreaths.
A dream of mine has been to have a wall of books. Floor to ceiling bookcase filled with books that I love and enjoy.
