It’s been one week since we got a vacuum robot to try out. Here are our current thoughts based on our one week trial:
I love to bring a few plants in when it starts to get cold. Common recipes I make each week call for chives and basil and having it on hand is quite useful.
Grocery store bought bunches of greens often are much more than I need and I feel wasteful not having a use for the remainder in upcoming meals.
I have been considering what value a robot vacuum may have, as our house has a lot of hardwood flooring. We are currently borrowing my In-Laws Roomba in order to test out how they work for us, before possibly buying.
Just a quick home update. I am making great headway on my unpacking/organizing front.
In the short time since we’ve gotten our home, we have done the regular things to make a home ones’ own and normal maintenance and more.
Most of the family holiday dinners we go to, be it Thanksgiving or Christmas, is served buffet style. With the food out in the kitchen, there is plenty of space on the table for mom’s china place settings, butter, salt, pepper, and a centerpiece. The most memorable centerpiece my Mom puts out is her Snowbabies.
With a live Christmas tree comes pine tree trimmings! The trimmed branches have been sitting outside for a bit and I finally made it to the craft store this week to pick up a couple of wreath frames, floral wire, and extra decor for my three wreaths.
A dream of mine has been to have a wall of books. Floor to ceiling bookcase filled with books that I love and enjoy.
I suppose as we move further into November it is time to modify from the fall Halloween decorations to the autumn harvest and Thanksgiving decor.
Spices, a key ingredient that makes the difference. The element that can make a dish “Mom’s” or “Grandma’s” home cooked meal from any other similar dish you come across. When I am in the kitchen I want my spices to be easily accessible and not have to hunt around to find that I need.
I have heard and agree with the generalization that most people gravitate and gather in the kitchen of a home. With this in mind and the already accumulated clutter in the kitchen I decided to start there with my unpacking endeavor.
It’s small in comparison to the whole house, but a mailbox is a nice feature to owning a home.
Many people have new year’s resolutions, you know to start the year off on a good foot or with the right intentions. Well, I sort of didn’t come to my resolution to become healthier until November of 2016. I cannot recall what was the final push but things just lined up, a gym 6 mins away, a desire to be stronger, etc..
The starting of this blog coincides with a big life event, buying our first home! As many may know the kitchen is a key area. I am so excited to have additional space to roll out cookie dough!
