Creating a Cookbook of Favorites

There have been several dinner and dessert favorites that we keep going back to overtime, but they have been scattered in my cookbook cabinet.

So…

March 1st is National Peanut Butter Lovers Day!

Did you know we peanut butter lovers have a day! It’s March 1st. To be fair I didn’t know this ahead of time, but it was a wonderful tidbit I learned from a restaurant promotion email this morning.

3 Things From My Instagram

Hey everyone!

I’ve been posting a bit more in the last few days over on my Instagram @just.a.little.bit.sweet

Here are 3 things you might be missing by only checking the blog!

Valentine’s Day Peanut Butter M&M Cookies

I have finally gotten my Peanut Butter Cookie recipe to where I want it.

So delicious I’m going to share it with a twist just for valentines day or if you’re a fan of the color red!

My First Attempt Making A Mugcake

In the past, I had heard of making cakes in the microwave with coffee mugs and this cookbook just happened to have one those such mugcake recipes. I had all the ingredients on hand already and thought it would be a great recipe to try out to christen the new cookbook.

Simple Ricotta Basil Pasta

It’s nice when browsing through a cookbook that you find that recipe that sounds delicious and has simple cooking instruction. We found this pasta recipe gem in the We Care cookbook a few weeks ago and decided to try it out this evening.

Shells

Is there a pasta shape you dislike?

The Thing About Salads …

Now let’s get honest, I’ve been posting a lot of photos of well-balanced dinners over on my Instagram. All inspired and feeling that “Yes” I can totally do this on the regular after that cooking class last week.

I do, scratch that, I can enjoy a good salad.

The Gift of Cooking

For my birthday in November, I was given the gift of “Do Something”. My something happened to be a cooking class yesterday evening with my husband, Ben.

Christmas Meringues

I had a lunch late last month with a friend and we had a lot of fun catching up and talking about Christmas cookies. Leaving that lunch the idea of a Christmas cookie baking day was born and oh am I over ambitious.

Chocolate Pretzel Holiday Snack

This holiday snack is salty and sweet, yum yum! Round pretzels filled will kisses and M&Ms. Sweet milk chocolate and a salty pretzel keep me coming back for more.

Caring Jambalya

In the area, we live in a big fundraising effort is made in December for We Care. Efforts involve Christmas light displays, people out collecting with donation buckets at intersections, a telethon, and apparently a shop with cookbooks!

Natural Nut Butter

If you’re ever at a farmer’s market that sells natural nut butter, I suggest you give it a try. It’s great in peanut butter cookies and almond butter makes a great substitute for an even nuttier flavor.
