Most of the family holiday dinners we go to, be it Thanksgiving or Christmas, is served buffet style. Dishes are laid out in the kitchen for people to pile on to their plates and then find a spot at the table. With the food out in the kitchen, there is plenty of space on the table for mom’s china place settings, butter, salt, pepper, and a centerpiece. I had a lunch late last month with a friend and we had a lot of fun catching up and talking about Christmas cookies. She told me about how she’d love to make sugar cookies and try to make meringues again. She told me about her trials before of batches thrown out and puddles of meringue not lived up to the Pinterest pictures. With a live Christmas tree comes pine tree trimmings! The trimmed branches have been sitting outside for a bit and I finally made it to the craft store this week to pick up a couple of wreath frames, floral wire, and extra decor for my three wreaths. Read more
