In a search for inspiration, I went to Pinterest to see what was trending… curd recipes, apparently. Raspberry, lemon, strawberry, cranberry, pineapple, orange, the list goes on and on of curd recipes you can find.
I haven’t made or tried curd before, so as any person on the internet would do I asked Google and found other blogs. Like this one, by Cooking Light, that lists 12 uses for curd. Very helpful, thank you! Read more
Naked cakes seem to be trending in the last year or so. Whether you like to follow the flow or love the idea of a cake with minimal frosting, then this just may be the cake for you. These cakes follow a less is more / clean design style that makes them simple to assemble and quick to deliver, if you were given short notice. This posts’ two creators have been my inspiration for a while now, I love watching their videos on youtube and gaining a better understanding of cake decorating. I’ve been on a journey for a year now. Last November I joined a gym, I talk about it a bit in one of my earliest posts on the blog, here. Change was in the air I suppose as many events have unfolded since then. I felt that as it is near the mid-end of November again I would reflect back on that first step.
I’m not traditionally athletically inclined. What does that mean? Well, I didn’t ever really like to run even though I tried soccer for a few years. I like to swim but more like a leisure activity and with an active imagination… you know mermaids and all that. 😀 I fell in love with horseback riding and that was my exercise and my passion throughout high school and college. Yes, that is exercise! It’s not common or a traditionally thought of form of exercise but it was what I found was for me. Read more
I first enjoyed a French Macaron at a little sweet shop that opened up in the town I was living in. They have a few flavors and I simply fell in love with how dainty and delicious they were. I was so excited about this sweet shop and these macarons that I took it as a challenge to learn to make them for myself. I learned pretty quickly that they are bit trickier than they seem to get those desired ‘feet’ on the cookie. To sum up my experiences thus far I am still learning and will be sure to give them a try again and post an update on my progress.
Now with all that said let’s give props to these two bakers who make french macarons look amazing and customizable.
Crafting comes in so many forms and being a creator opens up, even more, areas that usually do not fall under the label of crafting such as cookie decorator. Today’s post is to those who love to create delicious cookies that mimic other crafting styles and those who love to sew and paint. Check out Hol_Fox and SweetAmbs Instagram cookie pics below.
